The YMCA is currently undergoing a massive renovation and expansion project to accommodate its local community and the athletics its members were wanting added. In the heart of the Dr Phillips community is the famous Bay Hill Golf Course with its attraction of thousands to come and watch famous golfers from around the world play at their best.

Just a few minutes drive down Apopka Vineland is home to the famous mouse, Walt Disney World. Universal studios is located just off from Turkey Lake Road to the East. Sea world is just 15 minutes away by either I-4 and the 528 or following Turkey Lake to the Central Florida Parkway. The area parks offer discounts to Florida residents. In addition to the the theme parks, there are also a few county parks which the local residents can enjoy. It is located right on the lake which often provides a nice breeze for enjoying family picnics. The park rents out pavilions for birthdays and other celebrations which often are packed on a daily basis during the summer.

Sand Lake Road now known by most locals as Restaurant row has all the dining out that both the locals and tourists could ever need. There are times that you would think you could sell tickets at the local Chick-fil-a. Sand Lake Road which runs East to West also can take you almost to the Airport via the local road which would include a pass by the Florida Mall which is one of the bigger malls in the South Orlando area. One of the highlights to any tourists trip to Orlando is International Drive which intersects Sand Lake Road just to the east of Dr Phillips and Restaurant Row. International Drive is home to just about every chain of hotel and restaurant. Everything from McDonalds to Brazilian Steak houses. Also home to the new Orlando Eye which is the highest Ferris Wheel in Central Florida which overlooks the Orlando Sky line. There is Putt-Putt and Bowling, Karaoke and Ripley’s Believe it or Not, and lots and lots of shopping. At both ends of International Drive there are Outlet Malls with every possible store – one call the Prime and the other the Premium Outlets. The northern mall area has the famous Bass Pro shop. The Southern you could almost walk to Disney. Dr Phillips is located just a few minutes from the major highway of Interstate -4 and the 408. Both highways having the ability to take you throughout Central Florida an to Downtown Orlando. Great access to the highways is another perk of living in this great community.
